Pastor's Pen 6-29-08

Hey, next week is our Fellowship meal after church on Sunday morning. This is always a great time of fellowship with each other. Bring some food and invite some friends to come along with you.
By the way, have told you how great you did on Father’s Day? Well you did, you invited people, handed out tickets, brought people and made it a great day and we feed over 100. Thank You for being eager to serve the Lord.
Speaking of serving, we still have some positions unfilled for the 2008-2009 year. Positions like Nursery Director, Nursery teacher and assistant, Kidzone teachers and assistants, Van drivers, Blessings committee, Greeters, Brotherhood director, and others. Pray about it and then step up and serve. We need you, we need everyone to be serving in some area of the church. When you are serving you are happier and more in tune with what God wants you to do. And when we are doing what God wants us to do we find that we are truly happy and at peace. All too often we are serving in some area that we may not think is important. But we must be faithful in the small areas in order to be put into more important areas.
You see when we start telling ourselves that we are too tired to serve we soon find that we are too tired to get up and come to church. When we start thinking that we are too busy to serve we start thinking that we are too busy to read our Bible and pray. When we start believing that we are not smart enough to teach anyone anything we start feeling like we are not smart enough to understand God’s Word. When we start feeling like we are so unimportant that no one wants us to work in the church then we start thinking that no one will miss us at church. When we start saying that someone else will do it we rob ourselves of a blessing and overload others. When we start acting like our only job in the church is to sit in church on Sunday morning we get lazy in other areas also.
The time for excuses is over, now is the time to step up. What area will you serve in?
In HIS Service,
Bro. Randy
