Pastor's Pen 6-1-08

“I never worry about what I will do if I win a battle, but I know exactly what I will do if I lose one.” Napoleon
I found this to an interesting quote, Napoleon didn’t worry about his actions in winning a battle, why? Because he was used to winning them, but he was not used to losing them. The Apostle Paul told Timothy to “Fight the good fight of the faith.” 1 Tim 6:12 (NIV) In order to fight a good fight we must be willing to put ourselves on the line for Jesus, no matter what. We must be willing to go and tell, even at our own expense. We may think the price is way too high, even if we don’t know what the price is. A year ago I was honored to go to Belize and share Jesus, it is a trip that I think about daily, the people I met, the country I saw, but most important the ones I led to the Lord and the ones I helped lead to the Lord and the seed I helped plant for the Kingdom of the Lord.
When I watch the news and see the things that are happening around the world I know that time is short, Jesus is coming soon. Now you know that I am not a doomsday prophet, always talking about all of the bad things that will take place in the end times, but anyone with a Bible and an open mind for the Lord and His Word can see that we must be telling everyone we can about Jesus. If all we are concerned about is our own salvation, and our own mansion in Heaven then we have failed. Jesus told us all, everyone, to “go and tell”, that isn’t a request, it is a direct order. What will you tell God when you stand in front of Him and He asks you why you didn’t tell people about Jesus. What is the best excuse that you can think of? Guess what, it isn’t good enough, whatever your excuse or reason for not sharing your faith with others, whatever your best argument is, it just doesn’t measure up. Jesus gave His life and you can’t see your way clear to give 5 minutes telling someone going to Hell about Jesus when you know He is the only way to prevent that lost person from spending eternity in Satan’s Hell.
Let’s not make excuses, let’s make positive results. Who will you share Jesus with today?
In HIS Service,
Bro. Randy
