RELAY FOR LIFE

We had our annual Relay for Life in Childress this past weekend.
It was held at the City Park for the first time. Here are some pics of the event.
Cancer survivers getting ready for the survivers lap, my mom is the one wearing the hat.
Saying the Pledge
Trey Morgan (Church of Christ pastor) saying the opening prayer
This is in memory of Tom Whitaker, Tom and Jerry Henderson always made the first round together, Tom in his wheelchair and Jerry pushing. We miss you Tom.
Now there's a face anybody can love.

The luminaria service is always good, the bags are to remember those who lost their fight with cancer, those who have won or are still fighting, and for the care givers. Candles are placed in the bags and the effect is grand. I had the honor of doing the luminaria service this year.

Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back

We will continue to raise money until cancer is only a bad memory.
